Saturday Thoughts 03/03/18

Woke up to the lowest tide I've seen in my river days.  Had coffee with the neighbors as we still have no power and no ground java beans.  ;-P  After java and chit chat I bundled up hygge style to get outside and explore.  What better place to explore than the exposed river bottom?!  Someone was on a four wheeler up the river, other than that I was flying solo.  I took many snapshots only to learn later my glove tip is in most of them or they are blurry from wind gusts trying to push me over.  I found bottles, driftwood and a total peace while walking the riverbed.  (insert lots of stuff on my mind but they weren't whirling in my head while exploring). I absolutely love living here on the river, I may have paid too much $$ for this place but the joy, peace and fascination I have found is priceless.  Life is good at the river........

Visitors ...

... Have been very few, however we have truly enjoyed the ones that have come "all the way to Tyaskin" to visit us!  There's been that one dude with the cute kid a couple of times (love you Stone), that beautiful mermaid and her mer-son (love you both), the bike chicks (love y'all), the husband and wife team that came for wine, cheese and crackers and now the parental units are here visiting.  We love sharing what we have been blessed with.  I'm happy my parents have been the first blood line visitors, they've helped us get here for sure!  The wind kicked up with their arrival and we've been doing inside jobs, plan to paint the first room tomorrow!  Excited to make Mermaid's Rest more our style and color.  Before and after pictures will be a must.  ...

Welcome to Mermaid's Rest Blog

Mermaid's Rest is my new home, love it here!  Moved in May 2017, have the rest of my life to get the home together and squared away, for now, we play.... outside, in the water, on the water, in the yard and just enjoy the peace and quiet all around us.  We spend a lot of time sitting on the screened in porch and watching the wildlife around here.  We've seen eagles, turkeys, deer, muskrats, snakes, ground hogs...

So this is my blog spot to share my experience at Mermaid's Rest.  I hope you enjoy.  ;-)
